LV children
prove yet again their mettle
The newly admitted members of Leadership Village representing
various villages of Wayanad continued the tradition of LV by setting up their
own libraries in their homes. On holidays these children will roam around the
villages with a bag filled with books, visit the members of the library and
distribute books collected from many parts of India and abroad. The LoW
(Library on Wheels) project got a shot in the arm when it received new packages
of books from Mumbai last month.
On the 15th of July some of the LV students came back
to their alma mater AFRC INDIA and organized a book distribution function.
Ashraf Ali Khan took charge of the project while the responsibility of tracking
all the books safe was the duty of Ramsheena. The new librarians with
enthusiasm carried home bunch of books to their villages.
LoW of the month
The best library on Wheels for the month is the one organised by
Ajith from Vythiri. Besides the books issued from the LV Leadership Library
Ajith has already collected nearly 100 books and added it to his library. The
silent and withdrawn village lad has improved tremendously after joining the summer
camp, one more proof to the fact that given opportunity and individual care and
attention children can change beyond recognition. Hope the teachers are
listening!
