"One drop of water fell in the river
That`s all heaven could do...
One drop of water fell in the river
And EVERYTHING changed...."
This tiny poem, which was recited to us by one of our friends during a casual talk always nudges us to think on the immense possibilities of how seemingly small acts can create incredible impact in our otherwise uneventful days. as the words indicate the drop of water became the river and the river became the drop of water. A small act, but a BIG change.
Today Leadership Village witnessed such an event, how a small group of children and youth got all inspired and charged up when a person with a good mind and a big heart came over here and spent three hours with them . Let me introduce Fabio Manno, from LeadCap, who is here to help us in developing the Young Leadership Programme. today we had the first ever early leadership training session at The Village Centre. though it was heavily raining, leaders were engaged in many activities, still they found time to manage and came to the centre, as always eager for the next adventure. Fabio first became a Living Book to the children and nearly spent one hour sharing with them stories and myths from Italy, education system in Europe, how he reached India...........then he skillfully guided everyone`s attention towards leadership. Now that we have a faster internet connection things are pretty easy:-) Fabio showed the children the popular "you tube" leadership video of the dancing man and everyone enjoyed the video.
We learned many new things about leadership, the values behind leadership, how important it is to build trust in the followers, the crucial role the "first follower" plays in creating a momentum and a whole lot about the word"vision" how we can achieve our vision etc. It was fun to learn with Fabio. We started with interesting leadership games and , can you believe it ended with an Italian folk dance. Our leaders Pooja and Geethanjali know an Italian dance and Fabio sang for them and it indeed was great moment for everyone. Please keep watching this space for more on this session from the words of our own leaders in the coming days.
Yours truly
